Philadelphia Flower Show

Flower Show
I first moved to Philadelphia nearly 11 years ago. Every March, someone—usually more than one someone, actually—has told me how great the Philadelphia Flower Show is and how it’s not to be missed. Well, Sunday I finally made my first Flower Show, and I have to say I was underwhelmed. The Convention Center was crowded to the point that I felt claustrophobic; most of the plants were past their prime (it was the last day of the show); the displays were overdone (e.g., one display caused me to wonder if the designer was an already-neurotic wedding florist on steroids); and my hay fever started to flare up.

Next year, I’ll just go to Longwood Gardens. Or out on my own balcony. Thanks.
