Here’s this week’s exciting result:
Maple Grove is a town in Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,045 at the 2000 census.
Yes, that’s two weeks in a row that my Wiki Wednesday is an American locale that I don’t know. I’ve been to Wisconsin—to Milwaukee and in a line roughly between Chicago and Fargo, North Dakota. Never, though, have I been to northeastern Wisconsin. I gather that Shawano is an Ojibwa word, and that’s certainly cool. It’s also cool that the average income in Maple Grove is $45,000+. That seems like quite a bit for what’s apparently a pretty darn rural area.
Who’s been to Maple Grove?
